Servant’s Toolkit: Leading Multigenerational Teams

People are people? Leaders need to understand how to establish connections between multiple generations.

No matter how old you are, you are faced with working with people outside of your generation. This can present some serious issues that can impact how you recruit, train, motivate, retain, and even fire people. Often these are topics that are not spoken of openly but need to be. The differences between generations is always an issue, just as it has been for thousands of years.

Leaders need to adopt techniques that allow them to relate with others. Creating those relationship bonds allows us to tap into the individual’s wants and needs to harness the outcomes we both need.
